No Bake Cookies

I remember making these cookies often at my Grandma's house as a kid! I LOVE these cookies! This is a recipe from my Great Grandma.



No Bake Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup shortening(I use Crisco)
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 3 T. cocoa powder
  • 1/2 t. salt
  • 3 cups quick oats
  • 1 cup shredded coconut(I used unsweetened)
  • 1 t. vanilla
Directions: In a medium saucepan mix together the shortening, sugar, milk, salt and cocoa. Bring to a full boil. Remove from heat and stir in remaining ingredients and mix well. Spoon cookies(1 Tablespoon) onto wax paper to cool. When the cookies are cool and set, ENJOY!

  3. I make something similar and have it posted on my blog, but the ones I make don't have coconut in them. I'd like to try making them this way sometime!

  4. YUM!! That's funny you just posted this cause i actually just made these a couple of days ago! These are honestly one of my most favorite cookies of all time! I LOVE them... haha, and so did everyone else!

  5. what a great idea to add coconut i use peanut butter in mine instead soo rich and ewwwie-goooie good!!!

  6. these cookies are amazing, we dont use the 2 cups white sugar, we use 1 1/3 cup white sugar and 2/3 cups of brown. They stay moist longer doing it this way. But over all still amazing cookies
